Mrs. Schmidt, 2nd-grade teacher: Andi was a delight in our 2nd grade classroom! She connected with the students and delivered an engaging presentation. Her materials on the writing process and her book, Queen Bea, kept everyone excited and captivated many students. The activities she led inspired many students to focus on their writing skills, and they are eager for her to return!
-
Aniyah: She taught me that it is important to have others read and revise your story because sometimes you make mistakes.
-
Jacob: I like how she sits in nature and just looks around and makes up a story about nature. It makes me want to do it.
-
Nevaeh: I was interested in her bee suit. Now I want to be a beekeeper when I grow up!
-
Vanessa: Ms. Andi made learning about adjectives fun and active!
-
Noah: I could not put the book down. My mom kept making me try to put it down because it was time to go to bed but I wanted to keep reading it...I am on chapter 5...It makes me laugh. It is entertaining!I can’t wait to read more.

What were your favorite parts of the presentation? Our students were engaged the entire time. Students that normally struggle a bit with attention, focus, and effort - gave us 100% with their ideas and writing. The book and PowerPoint were lovely. I loved the anticipation and excitement from the students for you to be there!
-
What could be improved? Nothing. I thought it went great. Thank you for the awesome communication throughout the planning process.
-
Were the subjects covered relevant and relatable to your students? Absolutely. Reading, comprehension, rich vocabulary, writing, art, and science.

Andi led 6 sessions (an hour each) over the past 2 days for grades K-2. At the end of every session, the students were so disappointed that their time with her had to end! They loved Little Roo and took ownership of writing their own stories with Andi. We would love to have her back next year!

"Thank you for the Roo Presentation today at Minerva Elementary! It was a perfect supplement to our Community unit in Benchmark and our own Little Roo at grade 1."

The first graders get to read to Little Roo. Here he is with his helper!
